The Melbourne ISO is urging local progressive groups in Florida’s Space Coast to mobilize and protest the Republican National Convention here in our very own state of Florida. Per the Melbourne ISO:
“The RNC stands for upholding the 1% against the 99%, for attacking the rights of people of color, women, different LGBT communities, for destroying jobs, attacking unions, war-mongering, and the list goes on. It is our responsibility, as Floridians, to stand up and fight back against the Republicans by peacefully marching and making our voices heard, our message: “You and your ideas are not welcome in Florida, you and your ideas are rejected by the 99%!” The whole world will be watching Tampa on August 27th, do the right thing and stand up against the RNC!
Join this event if you would like to carpool to the RNC in August. Carpooling is the most efficient, not to mention cheapest, way for all of us to get there.
For those in Melbourne/Palm Bay/Eau Gallie area:
We will be meeting at the Publix parking lot on 192 and getting into the cars which will be carpooling. Signs will already be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Please bring bottled water, sunscreen, and some strong vocal chords! Each person will only have to contribute $10 towards the carpool, which will go towards gas, sign-making materials, etc.
For those in Cocoa/Rockledge/Cape Canaveral area:
Post a message in the ISO Facebook event (see below) indicating that you are from an area outside of the general Melbourne area. WE WILL ORGANIZE CARPOOLING FOR YOU. *BUT* we need to know who you are and be able to get in touch with you to do so!”
